Southern Illinois U. administrators hope for fall enrollment boost

As the fall semester nears, Southern Illinois University administrators say they are remaining optimistic that enrollment numbers will get a late boost.

Sierra Club declares Southern Illinois U. an environmental failure

Southern Illinois University-Carbondale has been attempting to go green through efforts such as the Green Fee and a sustainability council, but the university was still declared a failure in the latest issue of the Sierra Club magazine. The September/October issue released the third annual Cool Schools list, in which universities nationwide were ranked by environmental commitments. SIUC was not on the general rankings list, but did make the list of the three schools that failed, along with DePaul University and Texas Tech.
