Local News for University of Notre Dame

Harangody's return gives Irish basketball high hopes

"I realized my time here wasn't done yet." With these few words Luke Harangody summed up his decision to forgo entering the NBA draft and return to Notre Dame for his senior season, changing a potential rebuilding year for the Irish into plans for a trip to the NCAA Tournament.

W. Soccer: Notre Dame ready to chase title again

The term "nearly perfect" is often used in sports to describe great teams. It can be used to describe the 1996 Chicago Bulls or 1998 New York Yankees that were so good they had few, if any, flaws as they cruised to titles in their respective leagues. However, some teams, like the 2007 New England Patriots, find themselves on the other end of the spectrum, coming up just short in the big game while on the brink of true perfection.

Big expectations for young Notre Dame linebacker

The expectations surrounding heralded linebacker Manti Te'o could be summed up by the scene at Friday's freshman media day, where he was undoubtedly the center of attention. Since the prized recruit announced his commitment to the Irish on signing day, any discussion of Notre Dame's freshman class has begun with the Honolulu native.
