Ducks suspend tailback for season after punch

Oregon football coach Chip Kelly announced Friday that senior running back LaGarrette Blount is suspended from the team for the remainder of the season for punching an opposing player after Thursday's game at Boise State.

RB's postgame punches worsen ugly Oregon loss

In five ugly minutes, No. 16 Oregon’s 19-8 loss to No. 14 Boise State went from a statement win for the Broncos to a blemish for Oregon. After the final horn, as players and coaches mingled on the blue turf, senior running back LeGarrette Blount got into an altercation with a Boise State player, punching Bronco defensive end Byron Hout in the mouth. Footage also shows Blount hitting one of his own players during the confrontation.

Oregon U. System, union agreement averts staff strike

An agreement reached Monday between the Oregon University System and a union representing University staff averted a strike by the employees that could have hindered the start of the school year.
