Local News for Texas Tech University

Expansion of alcohol sales could change Texas Tech policies

Some changes are on the horizon for Texas Tech students over the age of 21, but exactly what changes is still up for review. The expansion of alcohol sales in Lubbock County that passed May 9 has influenced the Academic Alcohol Policy Review Committee, Student Government Association President Suzanne Williams said.

Oklahoma State could be this year's Texas Tech

An offense with its star quarterback returning, and star receiver back after choosing not to go pro, a defense that has been shaky in the past but has improved recently and lofty expectations for the team despite being projected third in their division. This year all of those descriptions fit the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

Outgoing Texas Tech lineman is more than wild man

After being named as an All-American last year and a preseason All-Big 12 Conference selection for 2009, Texas Tech offensive lineman Brandon Carter wants to be more of a leader to ensure the Red Raiders finish strong this time around. And with his presence at Big 12 Media Days in Irving this week, he's already gotten started.
